  • Chief technologist in charge of defining and executing technology strategies, including social media and digital marketing, RFPs, vendor management, website development and maintenance for small businesses, startups, and nonprofit organizations.

Merchant Services, Head of Processes and Practices

  • Developed and instituted architectural governance practice for Merchant Services covering data, cloud, and legacy architectures. Managed process rollout, drafted training materials and operating procedures, and trained stakeholders. Served as governance lead and point of contact for bank-wide governance councils.
  • Part of “war room” project team established to quickly remedy critical payment processing issues impacting clients and customers.
  • Designed over 20 solutions covering tokenization, digital transformation, cloud migration, contactless payments, and location enablement for Merchant Services.

 

Chase Consumer and Community Banking, Technical and Application Architecture

  • Led the development of 3-5 year strategies and multi-year plans across all of the consumer/retail (CCB) banking lines through collaboration with line of business Chief Architects, CTOs, and CIOs within business and technology. Delivered CCB-wide strategies driving innovations delivering multichannel, customer experiences, predictive analytics, complaint management, and customer verification and treatment. 
  • Assisted in defining a new strategy development and management process for central architecture practice. Partnered with PMO to streamline the strategy, investment planning, roadmap development, and demand management processes reducing book of work planning times by 20%. 
  • Developed the target state architecture for Treating Customers Fairly, a regulatory and customer experience cross consumer product initiative. The target state architecture involved rationalizing over 60 different complaint management systems across consumer/retail banking onto a single, centralized, cross-LOB solution. Managed a matrixed team of over 10 architects representing the various lines of businesses across Retail.  Provided end-to-end technical guidance and leadership to execution teams. 
  • Product Owner for the Cognito, an enterprise portfolio management platform. Successfully stood up and delivered the first instance of the platform, influencing and aiding with the firm-wide adoption of the platform.   
  • Assembled a team of 18 matrixed (inclusive of vendor), and dedicated resources distributed across the U.S. Under technical leadership, team delivered 690 reports, integrated 12 data sources, and developed a variety of dashboards supporting architects, portfolio managers, and senior-level (CTO/CIO) management in less than nine months.

 

Chase Auto Finance and Student Loans, Architecture

  • Defined and implemented new architecture governance, demand management, and architecture engagement models for Auto and Student Loans. Governance model regarded as a best practice across Retail. 
  • Evaluated and provided recommendations targeting cost and risk reduction within operational areas; print/fax channels, business remediation for regulatory and customer-related issues, payment processing, predictive behavioral analysis, electronic signatures, OCR. 
  • Delivered solution architecture and roadmap for $10 MM replacement loan origination & processing platform to support all student loan product lines and retire legacy applications. Developed a common pluggable service framework for extending loan processing functionality across the line of business. Designed scalable architecture to support volume growth, reduce manual and inefficient processes, and increase processing efficiency.  
  • Managed the application portfolio and execution team for the Consolidation loan product; a distributed development team consisting of 10 on- and offshore developers. 
  • Successfully led acquisition projects focused on aligning and integrating Collegiate Funding Services’ student loan products, processes, and platforms with JPMorgan Chase’s environment and culture. 
  • Architected and delivered solution to reduce operational and technical inefficiencies within the print shop. Solution decreased operational and development headcount, cut printing costs and overhead, improved reliability and scalability, decreased time to market for document-related projects and centralized print functions as a shareable service.  Managed the execution team consisting of 10 developers directly and matrixed team of QA, UAT, and business analyst resources.

Perot Systems

2003-2006

Perot Systems (now NTT Data) provided information technology services for companies in industries such as healthcare, government, manufacturing, financial services, and insurance.

  • Architect for PERADIGM/DIAMOND, an enterprise health care administration system built atop .NET, J2EE, WebSphere, JBOSS, JSP, Struts, TIBCO, Oracle, TopLink, and Castor technologies. 
  • Ran performance optimization effort for DIAMOND/PERADIGM; resulted in a 400% improvement in the middleware.  Performance optimization recommendations for client applications led to a decrease in application navigational times by 200%, decreased the number of web service calls by 80%, and decreased GDI and memory leakage by 80%. 
  • Architecture point of contact for Perot Healthcare clients providing training, design assistance, and support.   Key clients:  MBF, WellCare, BlueCross BlueShield 
  • Technical lead for the DIAMOND New Technology Customer Service application which consisted of a WinForms-based client module, utilizing C#, XML and XSLT and a J2EE service layer built using Java, XML, Castor, EJB, MDB, TopLink and web services.   
  • Managed distributed development teams consisting of 12 on- and offshore engineers in Oakland, CA, Bangalore, India and Tampa, FL.

2022 BayCare Presentation on Agility in Improving Health Outcomes 

  • Developed and co-presented a Continuing Education course on adapting and applying the Agile methodology to drive incremental change in local social determinants of health initiatives using my organization, Be a Light Mission Service Center Inc, as a case study.
  • Presented to virtual audience of 75 nurses, community leaders, and academics.

2019 SHPE National Convention: Presenter Quantum Computing for the Real World 

  • Wrote and delivered presentation based on our 2014 quantum computing assessment and recent developments to audience of 100+ engineers and academics at Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers national conference.

2014 JPMC Expert Engineer: Quantum Computing Assessment Project

  • Co-authored and co-led development of feasibility study on quantum computing’s capability to solve computationally hard financial optimization problems and assess applicability for use cases for JPMC.
  • Presented developments to MD/ED level business and technology leadership across the firm.
